1. Who We Are

Smart Alarm : Wake Up Challenge (package com.vk.alarm) is developed and maintained by Ajna Softwares. This Privacy Policy applies to all users of the app on Android devices, regardless of age.

2. Information We Collect

2a. Data stored locally on your device (never sent to any server)

• Alarm configurations – times, labels, ringtone URI, repeat days, snooze duration, challenge type & difficulty. Stored in a local Room database.
• App preferences – settings such as vibration, dark mode, snooze visibility. Stored in SharedPreferences on-device only.
• Purchase status – whether you have purchased the ad-free upgrade. Stored locally and verified through Google Play Billing.
• Step count & fitness data – Daily step count, estimated calories burned, active minutes, and your 7-day step history. Stored in a local Room database. Never transmitted to any server.
• Water intake logs – Daily water consumption entries and your personalised hydration goal. Stored locally on-device only.

This data never leaves your device (except for purchase verification with Google Play). It is not transmitted to any server owned by us.

2b. Data collected by third-party SDKs

The app integrates the following third-party services that may collect certain data as described below:

We do not operate any backend server that stores your alarm data, usage patterns, or personal information.

3. Information We Do NOT Collect

We want to be crystal clear — we do NOT collect:

• ❌ Your name, email address, or phone number
• ❌ Date of birth or age
• ❌ Location or GPS data
• ❌ Contacts, call logs, or SMS messages
• ❌ Browsing or search history
• ❌ Biometric data
• ❌ School, parent, or guardian information
• ❌ Photos or media files (camera is used only for the optional photo challenge — images are processed locally and never uploaded or stored permanently)
• ❌ Persistent identifiers linked to children (beyond what AdMob requires for non-personalized ads)

4. Children's Privacy & Parental Information

4a. Our Commitment to Children's Privacy

Smart Alarm : Wake Up Challenge is suitable for users of all ages. We take children's privacy extremely seriously and comply with:

• COPPA – Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (United States)
• GDPR Article 8 – Processing of personal data of children (European Union)
• Google Play Families Policy – requirements for apps available to children

• 🚫 We do not collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU) beyond what is required for non-personalized ads
• 🚫 We do not use behavioural advertising or interest-based tracking for children
• 🚫 We do not allow children to share personal data publicly
• 🚫 We do not require children to provide personal data beyond what is necessary to use the app (none is required)

4d. Parental Rights

As a parent or legal guardian, you have the right to:

• 📋 Review any data associated with your child's use of the app (note: all data is stored locally on the device — you can view it directly)
• 🗑️ Delete all app data by going to Settings → Apps → Smart Alarm → Storage → Clear Data, or by uninstalling the app
• 🚫 Refuse further collection of data by uninstalling the app
• 💰 Remove ads permanently by purchasing the one-time ad-free upgrade (no recurring charges)

We will respond to parental requests within 48 hours.

4e. Parental Supervision Recommendation

While our app is safe for all ages, we recommend that parents and guardians:

• Supervise younger children's use of any mobile application
• Review the app's settings and alarm configurations
• Consider purchasing the ad-free upgrade for a completely ad-free experience
• Manage notification permissions on behalf of younger users
• Contact us if they have any concerns about the app's content or behaviour

5. Permissions Explained

Below is every permission declared in our app and the exact reason we need it. None of these permissions are used to collect personal data from any user, including children.

Permission	Why we need it
POST_NOTIFICATIONS	Show upcoming alarm reminders and snooze notifications on Android 13+ devices. You can revoke this in system settings at any time. This is the only permission we actively request from the user.
SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM / USE_EXACT_ALARM	Fire alarms at the exact time you set. Without this, Android may delay or batch the alarm.
VIBRATE	Vibrate the device when an alarm rings.
WAKE_LOCK	Keep the CPU awake long enough to start the alarm service and ring the alarm reliably.
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED	Re-schedule your alarms automatically after the device restarts, so you never miss a wake-up.
CAMERA	Used only for the optional Photo Challenge — you must take a photo to dismiss the alarm. No images are stored, uploaded, or transmitted. Images are immediately discarded after the challenge is completed.
FOREGROUND_SERVICE / FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PLAYBACK	Run the alarm sound as a foreground service so Android does not silence it in the background.
USE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENT	Display the alarm ringing screen as a full-screen notification so you can see and dismiss it immediately, even when the device is locked.
INTERNET	Required for displaying advertisements (Google AdMob) and processing in-app purchases (Google Play Billing). We do not transmit any personal data to our own servers.
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE	Check network connectivity before loading ads to avoid unnecessary errors and improve user experience.
com.android.vending.BILLING	Process the one-time in-app purchase to remove ads permanently through Google Play Billing.
ACTIVITY_RECOGNITION	Required on Android 10+ to access the device's step counter and step detector sensors. Used exclusively by the built-in Step Counter feature, which the user must manually start. Without this permission, step tracking is fully disabled and the rest of the app continues to work normally. Not used for background activity monitoring or any form of profiling.
FOREGROUND_SERVICE_HEALTH	Allows the step counting service to run as a foreground service of type "health" while the user has an active walking session. This keeps the step counter running reliably and shows a persistent notification so the user is always aware tracking is active. The service stops immediately when the user taps Stop or closes the session.
RECORD_AUDIO	Used only for the Voice Recall alarm challenge — the user must speak back a memorised sentence to dismiss the alarm. Audio is processed entirely on-device and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted. Microphone access ends as soon as the challenge is completed or the alarm is dismissed.
WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (Android 9 and below only)	Required on older Android versions (API 28 and below) to save the reference photo used in the Photo Challenge. Not requested on Android 10 or later. The photo is stored locally and only used to verify the user's location when dismissing the alarm.

6. Advertising & In-App Purchases

6a. Advertisements

Smart Alarm : Wake Up Challenge displays advertisements powered by Google AdMob. The following types of ads may be shown:

• Banner ads – Small ads displayed at the bottom of certain screens
• Interstitial ads – Full-screen ads shown between certain actions (e.g., after dismissing multiple alarms)

6b. Ad Data Collection

Google AdMob may collect certain data to serve advertisements, including:

• Device identifiers (Advertising ID)
• IP address
• Device information (model, OS version)
• Ad interaction data (clicks, views)

6c. Opting Out of Personalized Ads

You can opt out of personalized advertising by:

• Adjusting your device's ad settings: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization
• Resetting your Advertising ID in the same settings menu
• Purchasing the one-time ad-free upgrade to remove all advertisements

6d. One-Time Purchase (Remove Ads)

We offer a one-time in-app purchase that permanently removes all advertisements from the app. Key details:

• 💰 One-time payment – No subscriptions or recurring charges
• ♾️ Lifetime access – Once purchased, ads are removed forever
• 🔄 Restore anytime – If you reinstall the app or switch devices, you can restore your purchase at no additional cost
• 🔒 Secure payment – All transactions are processed securely through Google Play Billing

We do not receive or store any payment card details. All payment processing is handled by Google Play. We only receive confirmation that a purchase was successful.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

All alarm and preference data lives on your device only. You can delete it at any time by:

• Clearing app data: Settings → Apps → Smart Alarm → Storage → Clear Data
• Uninstalling the app — all local data is permanently removed.

Note: Your ad-free purchase is tied to your Google account and can be restored at any time, even after clearing app data or reinstalling.

Parents/Guardians: You can delete all your child's app data at any time using the methods above. No residual data remains on any server since we do not operate one.

8. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data:

• No personal data is transmitted to servers owned by us
• All local data is protected by Android's app sandboxing and device encryption
• In-app purchases are processed securely through Google Play Billing
• Camera data (photo challenge) is never stored or transmitted
• Ad data collection is handled by Google AdMob according to their security standards

9. International Users

Smart Alarm : Wake Up Challenge is available worldwide. Regardless of your location, we apply the same privacy protections to all users. We specifically comply with:

• 🇪🇺 GDPR & GDPR-K (European Union) — All users; enhanced protections for users under 16
• 🇬🇧 UK Age Appropriate Design Code — Best interests of child users
• 🇮🇳 IT Act & DPDP Act (India) — Data protection standards
• 🇧🇷 LGPD (Brazil) — Data processing for minors requires parental consent

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes that affect children's privacy or data collection practices, we will make reasonable efforts to provide prominent notice (such as an in-app notification). Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
